And Now The End Is Near.....

Me again, taking some time to reflect on my HLSS journey as the end draws nearer.

I must say that God has certainly blessed us with extremely patient teachers in Ms. T. Elcock and Ms. A. Messiah. I admire the fact that they took the time to walk through many of the course material that was foreign to me. As an educator, patience is a very important tool and I think they showed a lot of it.
Though some may say that I am sociable, personally I prefer to do things on my own. That said, doing my group assignment really wasn’t painful at all.

Group 7:Lavonne Vidale, Lisa Edghill, Eulin Williams, Chester Lee Riviears, Maxienne Deo

I have during the weeks of this course bonded with old friends and made some new ones. Guess what? I even met a student whom I taught at the Standard Five level (What’s up Runako?). I felt comfortable with all my HLSS classmates and it was pleasing to me that I didn’t encounter any selfish attitudes when it came to sharing ideas or resources (Big Ups to Jezelle-thanks for the ‘password’). It would be remiss of me if I didn’t mention Eulin Williams when talking about my classmates. I think that she is a breath of fresh air. She certainly has a wealth of experience in Education under her belt and I think all credit to her taking up this challenge to, as she said, “Get some ‘letters’ behind her name.” She has re-emphasized the point that when one is not sure, or doesn’t know, one should not be afraid to ask.

Looking back at the assignments given, I would not be truthful if I said that they were extremely difficult. I know my Achilles heel is the monster called Procrastination, so many times I’d be completing my tasks at least one or two nights before (don’t hate, just being honest okay). I know therefore, if I am to read for this degree, working on my time management skills will be important. By the way I’m still a tad disappointed that my Voki is still lost in cyberspace, so I’m going to try posting the link here on my blog. I think we resemble.

I should also express my thanks for my ‘blog’ assignment. Were it not for HLSS, I would not have been able to call myself a Blogger. I would close by saying that I think that the objective of preparing me for the next step of Tertiary education was met, for I now have a better idea of what I would be getting into.
